Blake H. Held, AIA

Blake H. Held is a licensed architect based just outside of Rochester in Honeoye Falls, New York. With over three decades of experience specializing in residential design and historic preservation, Blake studied architecture at the graduate level at Syracuse University School of Architecture (1991) and holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College (1984). He has served as Chairman of both the Town of Mendon Historic Preservation Commission and the Village of Pittsford Architectural Preservation and Review Board, and served as Chairman of the AIA Custom Residential Architects Network (CRAN) in 2022 following years of leadership on the Executive Committee and Advisory Group.

Blake's notable projects include serving as lead architect on the rehabilitation of Rochester's Academy Building into apartments (2013), ongoing restoration of an 1840s Cobblestone House in Pultneyville, and restoration work at the American Hotel in Lima. His personal commitment to the craft is evidenced by his hands-on restoration of an 1827 Greek Revival home and an 1828 Stone Greek Revival home. He has also designed restoration and rehabilitation plans for multiple structures at the Genesee Country Museum.

Blake's approach balances respect for historical context with the practical needs of contemporary living, ensuring that Western New York's architectural heritage is preserved while creating functional spaces for modern life. Through his practice, he continues to serve clients who value both architectural excellence and historical authenticity.
